Abstract

This course aims to empower teaching staff of TVET institutions and universities to implement modern methods of teaching and learning. It focusses on the transformation from traditional teaching and rote learning to more effective and outcome-oriented approaches, such as work-oriented, competence-based, project and problem-based, student-centered and action-oriented teaching and learning as well as feedback and group methods. It is recommended, though not required, to attend the course “Competence-Based Education and Training” before this course.

Learning objectives

On completion of the training, participants  

  • are able to explain and apply the principles of student-centered, action- and work-oriented learning 
  • are able to plan, develop, conduct and evaluate student-centered, action- and work-oriented learning experiences 
  • are able to reflect on the current and teaching and learning culture at their institution

  • Cooperative work 

Remarks

Requirements  

  • Basic ICT skills 
  • Teaching experience in the mentioned occupational fields 

If necessary, an initial training on ICT and e-learning  (10 h) can be provided.

  • TVET teachers  
  • Lecturers who qualify TVET teachers
