    Management of TVET Institutions - Customised trainings

    Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays a key role in the sustainable development of economic and socio-ecological structures in developing countries, emerging countries and industrialised nations. Due to the consistently increasing global demand for technical and managerial expertise in the vocational training sector, its strengthening has also been anchored as a focus topic in the global agenda for sustainable development.

    In TVET systems, the effective and targeted management of vocational training institutions is a key challenge. The responsible leadership and management staff is expected to have wide-ranging competencies in order to meet the increasingly sophisticated expectations towards vocational colleges and TVET institutions in general.

    This introductory course provides an overview of TVET management from a quality perspective. The training introduces different areas which contribute to quality in TVET. The practice-oriented approach enables participants to analyse the status quo of processes in their working environment regarding the identified quality areas. This provides a basis to identify and prioritise areas with needs for quality enhancement in their institution.

    MTI-001.06 21st Century Leadership in TVET - How can changes be successfully implemented? (on request available for groups with individual timing)

    21st Century Leadership in the educational sector is based on an appreciative growth-mindset attitude which should be embraced by the whole institution and spearheaded by the management. The course gives an overview of the theory and practice of modern leadership competencies and behaviours in TVET. It provides participants with key elements of a roadmap for decision making an a plan to improve leadership effectiveness, align teams and drive organisations towards positive change.

    The concept of transformational leadership combined with new approaches to agile and change management tolls and methods will form the focus of the programme.

    Participants will be encouraged to introduce and discuss own experiences and examples.

    MTI-001.08 21st Century Leadership Skills for Women in TVET (on request available for groups with individual timing)

    Women are still underrepresented at decision-making level in TVET. This structural discrimination contrasts with21st Century Leadership approaches that are based on an appreciative, growth-oriented attitude that should be spearheaded by the TVET management. 
    This course is implemented by female trainers and aims at empowering women in/for TVET management positions. Participants will receive an innovative training on 21st Century Leadership competences and how to integrate these into their day-to-day work as female decision makers in TVET departments and managers of TVET institutions.

    TVET governance and financial policies provide the overall regulatory and legal framework for the financial management of TVET institutions. This course aims to equip participants with the skills needed to manage financial resources of TVETinstitutions effectively. It covers essential financial principles, practices and tools necessary for effective financial planning, control, and decision-making in TVET settings. Participants are provided with approaches to overcome common challenges in budgeting and accounting as well as financial processing of additional revenues.

    MTI-005.01 Managing Training Portfolio and Curriculum Development (on request available for groups with individual timing)

    The quality and relevance of programmes and courses offered by a TVET institution are crucial for its institutional development and overall effectiveness. Constant changes in the external environment call for a continuous revision, adaption and expansion of the training portfolio.

    The objective of this course is to enhance the capacities of management and academic staff of TVET instituions and authorities, who are responsible for initiating, steering, and evaluating training portfolio and curriculum development processes *). It focuses on methodologies to continuously assess the demands of the labour-market and how these can be translated into demand-driven training offers of TVET institutions.

    TD-006.01 Introduction to Raspberry Pi in TVET Teaching - virtual (on request available for groups with individual timing)

    This course is designed to sensitise for, and introduce a basic understanding how to set up and use the Raspberry Pi (RB Pi) and/ or Raspberry Pi Software to in a TVET classroom setting or as a project resource. The course enables participants to set up a Raspberry Pi and understand and use basic terminal commands (BASH). Furthermore, a short insight into possible projects is given as well as an overview over resource to identify and tailor projects to one’s own in classroom- or workshop needs.
